Designed for Flight

Paper airplanes can be made into many shapes and sizes and can cover several different flight patterns. Some are designed for creative flight, some for distance, some for height. This particular model is great for distance flights, and with some variations, can be converted into some very creative flight patterns.

Start with a sheet of paper, 8.5"x11"

Fold it in half, length-wise. Make every folded edge sharp - use your fingernails or a straight-edged ruler.

Fold tips up on the ends of the wings. This can be done in any angle you like - different angles will produce different flight patterns. Asymmetrical flaps will create even more creative flight patterns.

Tape a penny to the inside of the fuselage, or use paperclips or leaded tape to the outside. This will also alter the flight pattern. Changing the center of gravity can shorten or lengthen the flight.

Oh I'm so glad! This was a pattern I found when I was in science class in grade school, and it made some of the fastest and furthest flying planes I've seen!

Paper airplanes are timeless. Kids and adults love to make and fly them! I learned how to fold just two different paper airplanes when I was little. Now I learned that there are so many kinds of paper airplanes to fold and fly.

I've already fold all 50 paper airplanes found here:

Those are AWESOME.This year, in 4th grade,My teacher taught me how to make them. If you want to improve it try cutting about in the middle of the bottom wing and in the back of the bottom of the plane. Then you an make it go higher.=D

Thanks everyone! So glad you are enjoying - this is a great distance plane. We used to stand on our porch as kids and fly these over the hill. They went so far that no one wanted to retrieve them!
